"I Can't Afford to Buy a Home." Are You Sure?

"I Can't Afford to Buy a Home." Are You Sure?

If I had a dollar for every time someone told me, "Bella, I'd love to buy a home, but I just can't afford it,"  or "Neh we're not ready yet, everything is so expensive,"  I'd probably have enough for another down payment.

Here's what's interesting...

Many of the people I've worked with have successful careers, earn $250,000, $300,000, and even over $400,000+ NET a year!, maintain excellent credit scores of 700, 750, and even 800+, and yet they genuinely believe homeownership isn't within reach.

The truth?

Most of them weren't priced out of the market. They were simply making one very common mistake—they were guessing instead of getting the facts or taking advice from family memebers or friends who think they know better.

The Conversation That Changes Everything

One of the first things I do with my buyer clients is connect them with one of my trusted and valued mortgage professionals.

In as little as 30 minutes, they receive a realistic picture of:

  • Approximately how much they may qualify to purchase

  • Down payment options that fit their financial goals

  • Estimated monthly payments

  • A clear understanding of what buying could actually look like

No pressure. No obligation. Just clarity. For many people, that single conversation completely changes their perspective.

Shopping Smart—Not Maxing Out the Budget

Once we know the numbers, we begin looking at homes that make sense for their lifestyle and their financial comfort zone.

Just because a lender approves someone for a certain amount doesn't mean they should spend every dollar of it.

I always encourage my clients to stay within a budget that allows them to enjoy homeownership without feeling financially stretched.

Buying a home should create peace of mind—not financial stress.

The Best Part...

I've had clients who were paying $6,000, $7,000 + every month in rent.

Today, they're paying approximately $6,000/$7,000 (and in so many cases less) toward a mortgage on a home they actually own!

Think about that for a moment.  The same monthly payment...

But instead of helping a landlord build wealth, they're building equity, creating long-term financial stability, and investing in their own future.

That's a powerful shift.

Stop Guessing. Start Planning.

If you've been telling yourself, "Maybe someday," don't let assumptions keep you from exploring your options.

You may be much closer to homeownership than you realize. The first step isn't shopping for homes.

The first step is getting the right information.  Let's have a conversation.

I'll connect you with a trusted lender who can give you a clear picture of what may be possible, and if the numbers make sense, I'll help you find a home that fits both your lifestyle and your budget.

You have nothing to lose by asking questions—but you could have everything to gain by getting the answers.
